Remote Engine Start

This allows you to start the engine using a remote start key fob and even set the internal temperature before you get in. It’s handy for all climates, but especially welcome in the cold.

You may have forgotten where you’ve parked your vehicle before. However, you don’t need to worry about that anymore, as the MyMazda app points to the exact location of your vehicle and even allows you to flash the lights and beep the horn to make it easier to find. 

Mazda Radar Cruise Control With Stop & Go

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) uses your vehicle’s radar sensors to determine the relative distance and speed of the vehicle in front of it. Based on that information, MRCC automatically maintains and adjusts your vehicle’s speed without you having to use the brake pedals or accelerator. The Stop & Go function, on the other hand, applies the brakes and brings you to a complete stop if the car ahead stops in front of you. It then continues to drive the vehicle autonomously if the stop is less than two to three seconds.

Together, the MRCC and the Stop & Go function automatically detect the distance to the car in front of you and gradually slow down and stop your car as the vehicle in front of you reduces its speed and stops, all while maintaining a safe distance. Once your vehicle comes to a stop, the MRCC will continue with the push of a button and gradually bring your car back up to the previously set speed.

In addition, if your car starts closing in on the vehicle ahead, such as if the vehicle in front of you suddenly brakes, the MRCC immediately and simultaneously activates the warning indicator in the display and sounds a warning alarm to alert you to maintain a sufficient distance between the vehicles. 

MazdaConnect Infotainment System

MazdaConnect uses your smartphone’s Bluetooth technology to provide you with safe access to a range of features, including phone calls, maps, and music. Further, Bluetooth linking enables hands-free communication. Simply connect your MazdaConnect to your smartphone by activating the Bluetooth settings on both your Connect and smartphone. 

The system also comes with a 10.25-inch center display that supports Pandora integration, SMS texting connectivity, voice commands, and more. 

Cargo and Passenger Space

There’s also plenty of cargo space in the new Mazda CX-5. Behind the second row, the SUV has around 30.8 cubic feet of storage. That’s plenty of space for your luggage or all the camping equipment you need for a weekend in the wild. It also provides more than enough room when you take your SUV to the grocery store. 

With the second row of seats folded down, the cargo capacity of the new CX-5 is even more impressive. It increases from 30.8 cubic feet to around 59.3 cubic feet, just about doubling its size. If you need to pack up the things in your apartment and move, this SUV can get it done in just a few trips. 

You’ll also appreciate the room you have to stretch out. With around 39.6 inches of legroom, tall adults and kids will surely feel comfortable on long rides. This space almost matches the 41-inch legroom of its front seat.  

The CX-5’s headroom depends on whether you choose a model with or without a moonroof. Although choosing a model with one reduces your headroom by about 0.4 inches, this small difference is well worth it, as you can bask in natural light during the day and let your loved ones stargaze at night.
