The 2021 Mazda6 comes in six trims. Here are the mpg ratings for each trim, listed from entry level to top tier:

Starting at the Grand Touring trim, the 2021 Mazda6 gets a more powerful engine, which accounts for the lower fuel economy numbers.
The 2021 Mazda6 is powered by one of two engines. The Sport and Touring trims have a 2.5L four-cylinder engine. It produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, Carbon Edition, and Signature trims have a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine. With premium fuel, it produces 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft. Even with regular fuel, it pumps out 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Which engine your 2021 Mazda6 would have depends completely on trims. So, you can’t get a Sport trim with the turbo-four or a Signature trim with a base 2.5L engine.
