2020 Mazda CX-9 Towing Capacity and Cargo Space

Three-row SUVs are in demand right now. With so many ditching the cumbersome and faux pas minivan for SUVs, this demand makes sense. No longer does needing seating capacity condemn you to a lethargic box on wheels. Mazda is known for making high-quality, stylish vehicles. Thankfully, they make a three-row SUV, the Mazda CX-9.

The 2020 Mazda CX-9 is an excellent midsize, three-row SUV. It is spacious, luxurious, and practical. Exactly how practical is it, though? Can it handle a trailer? How about a camper?

The 2020 Mazda CX-9 is no slouch. It has the 2.5-liter turbocharged SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine which puts out 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers, paired with the AWD drivetrain, allow the 2020 CX-9 to pull a respectable 3,500 lbs. That’s enough to pull a moving trailer, a boat, or a small camper. And thanks to the aforementioned AWD, it has the ability to take those off-road.

2020 Mazda CX-9 Cargo Space

The 2020 Mazda CX-9 has plenty of space on the inside to fit all those camping accessories, home improvement materials, and groceries. Behind the third row, it has 14.4 cu-ft. With the third row folded down, it expands to 38.2 cu-ft. With both rear rows folded down, that space almost doubles to 71.2 cu-ft.
