Is Getting a CX-30 Turbo Worth It?

If you want an exceptionally quick and powerful CX-30 model, then the 2021 CX-30 Turbo is definitely worth every penny. However, you may want to consider the following things beforehand:

  • Price: The base model CX-30 Turbo ($30,050) costs more than the top-tier CX-30 Premium ($28,700).
  • Drivetrain: All CX-30 Turbo trims come in AWD; if you only want FWD, then you’ll need to look at the non-turbo CX-30 models
  • Features: The base CX-30 Turbo trim comes standard with the same features as the CX-30 Preferred; if you’d like fewer features and a lower price, then the non-turbo 2.5 S and Select trims are excellent options

Turbocharged Engine Specs

The CX-30 Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Premium Plus trims all come with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. On regular fuel, it produces 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. With premium fuel, those numbers are pumped up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. For comparison, the base CX-30 engine produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The turbo-four is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-ACTIV dynamic AWD.
