Each 2021 Mazda CX-30 comes standard with the reliable 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine. It produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. FWD is standard, but i-ACTIV AWD is available on all trims. FWD models are EPA-rated at 25/33/28 mpg, while AWD models get 24/31/26 mpg. But that’s just the base engine. The 2021 CX-30 will also be getting the turbo treatment. That’s right, available in late 2020, the 2021 Mazda CX-30 2.5 Turbo will feature the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G tubo-four that produces up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
Chances are that you own a smartphone. With the release of the new model year, even the base model 2021 CX-30 trim has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This pairs well with the three-year Mazda Connected Services trial and the integrated Wi-Fi hotspot. The standard stereo is an eight-speaker system with Mazda Harmonic Acoustics. However, the 2021 CX-30 Premium get the luxurious 12-speaker Bose Centerpoint 2 sound system with AudioPilot functionality.
Each 2021 CX-30 comes with a host of safety features right off the lot. Standard inclusions are forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, driver attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, and a rearview camera. Additional driver aides include blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, reverse automatic emergency braking, a surround-view parking camera system, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlights, and a heads-up display.
