Mazda is known for making fun-to-drive vehicles. This most prominent with the Miata, for sure, but vehicles like the Mazda3 and the Mazda6 give the Miata a run for its money. And we’re happy to say that the 2021 Mazda6 upholds that legacy.
The 2021 Mazda6 comes in six different trims: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, Carbon Edition, and Signature. Today, we’ll examine the integrated tech, safety suite, and performance specs of the 2021 Mazda6. Take a look below to learn more.
Every 2021 Mazda6 has plenty of connectivity features. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth are standard, as are an HD Radio, two USB ports, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Additional features are available on higher trims, like an 11-speaker Bose audio system, integrated navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a universal garage door opener, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and more.
The 2021 Mazda6 also comes with lots of safety tech. Included in the standard i-Activsense safety suite are forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rearview camera. Other available driver assistive features include front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic emergency braking, a 360° parking camera system, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlights, and a driver-attention monitor.
Under the hood of the 2021 Mazda6, there’s one of two engines: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a turbocharged 25-liter four-cylinder. The base 2.5-liter engine puts out 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The available 2.5-liter turbo-four pumps those numbers up a lot. With regular fuel, it produces 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque; premium fuel produces 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. FWD and a six-speed automatic are standard on every 2021 Mazda6.
