Mazda MX-5

Another great example of Mazda's capability is its top-level MX-5 cruising sports car. A lively four-cylinder engine is paired with a comfortable six-speed manual transmission, although an automatic transmission is also available. The MX-5's handling is eager and dynamic, making navigating curvy roads a pleasure.

The manual-folding soft top is standard on most trims, but a more expensive RF trim with a power-folding hardtop is available. The most notable change made to the Mazda3 is a newly introduced Carbon Edition between the Preferred and Premium trim levels. This all-wheel-drive-only version uses a 2.5-liter engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission. It also adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system with aluminum speaker grilles, 18-inch black alloy wheels with gloss mirror caps, red leather interior, and, of course, the Polymetal Gray body color for which the edition was named.
