How to Dim or Brighten Mazda Dashboard Lights
Different drivers have different driving preferences, with one being the preference for dashboard light brightness. Some drivers may find the dashboard and instrument cluster lights to be too bright, while others may find them to be too dim. Thankfully, it’s easy to learn how to dim or brighten Mazda dashboard lights.
Where to Find the Dashboard Illumination Adjustment Knob
Many drivers expect their vehicle to come with some sort of dashboard illumination adjustment feature, but finding it is another story. Here is where to look.
As might be expected, the knob to adjust the dashboard illumination can be found on the dashboard. Look through the opening in the steering wheel and you should see the knob sticking out near the top of the instrument cluster.
To make the light brighter, turn the knob to the right. To dim the light, turn it to the left. Keep in mind that the brightness can be adjusted when the headlights and parking lights are on.
Beeping Caused By the Dashboard Illumination Knob
Although being able to adjust the instrument cluster brightness in your Mazda is a great feature, some drivers have reported that the knob has caused a beeping in their vehicle. This is nothing to worry about, as it’s a normal feature.
When you turn the knob to the maximum level of brightness or dimness, the vehicle will beep to alert you that it can’t adjust the light any further. If you leave the knob at one of these maximum settings, it’s possible the beeping could continue periodically. Thankfully, there’s a simple fix, as all you need to do is turn the knob so it isn’t on one of the absolute maximum settings.
